Patricia Crabtrey, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, AOCNP

MD Anderson

Patricia Crabtrey began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse in 1991, she brings a diverse clinical background that includes experience in Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Interventional Radiology. Her commitment to patient care and clinical excellence led her to join MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2008, where she began working in the Radiation Oncology department.Initially serving as an RN at one of MD Anderson’s Houston Area Locations, she departed in 2012 to pursue advanced education. In 2013, she earned her Master’s degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and returned to MD Anderson in 2014, joining the Genitourinary Radiation Oncology Service.In late 2023, she transitioned to MD Anderson’s Sugar Land location to collaborate with Dr. Shalin Shah, supporting the development and growth of the Benign Program.

Open to view video.  |  61 minutes Radiation therapy is gaining recognition as an effective, non-invasive option for select benign conditions that significantly impact patient function and quality of life. This course provides an in-depth review of evidence-based applications of RT for conditions such as Dupuytren’s contracture, Ledderhose disease, osteoarthritis, gynecomastia, and keloids. Participants will learn about disease pathophysiology, timing of intervention, treatment regimens, and clinical outcomes supported by recent trials and practice experience. Special attention will be given to patient selection, safety profiles, and multidisciplinary approaches to optimize outcomes. By the end of the session, advanced practitioners will be equipped with practical knowledge to evaluate and counsel patients on the role of RT in benign disease management
